About Me

Picture of Grand Canyon from South Rim.

The purpose of this blog is to share some of my thoughts, and learnings with others. Developing software is such a complex activity and I am constantly learning about the process of developing quality code and all the things that entails. Most of it is from books, blogs, podcasts, etc that I have come across. I try to link out and give credit where its due.

Professionally, I am a full stack developer (Java and JavaScript/Angular) and have worked for over 20 years in software development, mostly web, at a variety of companies. My real passion is to mentor/coach small teams about coding quality and processes.

I also have been backpacking and hiking recently, in Ohio my favorite is Zaleski but I have done a lot, mostly in Southern Ohio. Completing a bucket list item, in September of 2021, I did a 4 day hike at the Grand Canyon, rim to rim, NK to BA. Picture above is from the end of the trip. Shout out to Wildland Trekking for a great trip.

Born and raised in Ohio, and have lived here most of my life except for about 10 years I was in the Army. And I am a huge Buckeye and Bengals fan.

I hope you find this site interesting and if you want to get hold of me to chat about any of this or, if you are a interested in hiring me to coach your team, at the bottom of the page are ways to contact me.
